I've tried switching back and forth between the resolutions to see if that helps, and by George, playing in the lower resolution gives me ONE whole more FPS and considering that's something like 20% of the overall performance I'm keeping the lower resolution. I downloaded the FPS mod yesterday and the highest I get is 8 unless I'm in white-out mode, in which case it'll go all the way up to 11.
I think after playing quite a bit since I got the game I'm in need of a newer graphics card. I updated drivers which didn't help, but at least I have the latest so there's that.
